The Han II cachepot is made of hand-painted porcelain, with columns of blue ideograms and terracotta seals. It is a cachepot: the plant stays in its own pot inside, while the porcelain remains on view.
With a 52 cm diameter and 32 cm height, it sits well on the floor beside a sofa or armchair, or on a low entry bench. The size takes monstera, pothos and large ferns in a medium-size pot.
The same painting is available in sizes I, II, III and IV, which lets you build a group at different heights in a hall or on a covered veranda.
The Han line covers the porcelain with vertical columns of blue ideograms from top to bottom, like a page of calligraphy. Between them appear terracotta seals and characters, which break up the blue and make the drawing read clearly from a distance.
Near the rim, blue flowers and foliage form a band around the piece; at the base, a wave frieze closes the design. The rim is wide, flared outward and also painted, and it stays visible when the cachepot is on the floor or on a low piece of furniture.
Because it is hand-painted, the linework and placement of the motifs vary slightly from one piece to the next.
Before choosing, measure your plant’s pot: it needs to be narrower than the cachepot’s mouth, with enough clearance to insert and remove it without scraping the painted rim.
Clean with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp, and avoid abrasive products and rough sponges that can scratch the paint. Porcelain is hard but it does not withstand blows: protect the piece from impacts when moving furniture nearby.
Use a saucer under the plant’s pot so watering does not accumulate at the bottom of the cachepot. On wood floors, a felt pad on the base protects the surface.
The intended use is as a cachepot: the plant stays in its own pot, with a saucer, and the set goes inside the porcelain. That way swapping plants is simple and watering does not touch the piece.
The cachepot measures 52 cm in external diameter and 32 cm in height. Choose a pot that is narrower than the mouth and up to the rim in height, leaving clearance to fit it in and out.
It is intended for indoor spaces and covered verandas.
The painting is done by hand, so the drawing has small variations from one piece to another. The pattern, colors and measurements are the same.
