The Zetian II cachepot is made of hand-painted porcelain with a fine blue floral vine. It is a cachepot: the plant stays in its own pot placed inside, with the porcelain on display.
With a 52 cm diameter and 32 cm height, it works on the floor beside a sofa or armchair, or on a low entry bench. The size suits monstera, pothos and large ferns in a medium-size pot.
The same painting is available in the store in sizes II and III, which lets you group pieces at different heights in a hall or on a covered veranda.
The Zetian pattern is a small-scale blue floral vine that covers the entire piece with no empty areas: tiny flowers, leaves and curved stems repeat from the foot to the rim. From a distance, it reads as an even blue-and-white texture, subtler than a large motif.
The wide rim flares outward and repeats the vine in a lighter blue, and a slim line marks the transition between the rim and the body. As the drawing has no front or back, the cachepot can be rotated without changing how it reads.
Because it is hand-painted, the linework and placement of the motifs vary slightly from one piece to another.
Before choosing, measure your plant’s pot: it must be narrower than the mouth of the cachepot, with enough clearance to insert and remove it without scraping the painted rim.
Clean with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp. Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough sponges that can scratch the painting. Porcelain is hard but does not withstand impact: protect the piece from knocks when moving furniture nearby.
Use a saucer under the plant’s pot so watering water does not pool at the bottom of the cachepot. On wood floors, place felt under the base to protect the surface.
The intended use is as a cachepot: keep the plant in its own pot, with a saucer, and place the set inside the porcelain. This makes swaps simple and keeps watering away from the piece.
The cachepot measures 52 cm in external diameter and 32 cm in height. Choose a pot narrower than the mouth and up to the rim in height, leaving clearance to insert and remove it.
It is recommended for indoor spaces and covered verandas.
The painting is done by hand, so there are small variations from piece to piece. The pattern, colors and measurements are the same.
